Lady Spartans have been nothing less than stellar this season. They are currently on a 9-game win streak, giving them an 11-5 record, not to mention they are 4-0 in the conference. Lady Spartans look to grab hold on the number one spot in the MEAC as they welcome the current number one team Bethune-Cookman this Saturday. Senior Kayla Roberts has contributed greatly to the success of Lady Spartans averaging close to 15 points per game True Freshman Armani Franklin (Shown in photo) is second on the team in assist with 31. At the beginning of the season, the expectations of this team might have been pretty low with a few new pieces in addition to some outside distractions, but second-year coach Larry Vickers has really rallied this team together and has them playing some of the best basketball this program has played in recent memory. If the Lady Spartans can gain the number one spot in the conference this weekend, you can definitely count them in to make serious noise in the MEAC tournament. Let us not get ahead of ourselves there is still a lot of basketball left to play, but this group of ladies is definitely headed in the right direction.
