We had an opportunity to catch up with #4 ranked Oklahoma Sooner Wide Reciever Jarvis Baxter and ask him a few questions.
1. What is your biggest influence? My biggest influence is my mother
2. How does it feel to be playing for a top 4 ranked team ? It feels great, everyone doubted us after we fell to UT but we paid it no mind. It's a winning team it's been part of the tradition here for many years I'm blessed to be part of this one
3. How would you describe playing at OU? It's a great experience
4. What would you say to the young football players back home that want to follow in the same Footsteps as you ? Be a student-athlete instead of an athlete-student . To follow their dreams and never let anyone tell them what they can and can't do.
5. What made you fall in love with Football? When I became homeless, and I was roaming the streets my father figure taught me the receiver spot and from playing on his team I saw how good I was and fell in love with the game more and more as I grew older
6. How does it feel catching passes from and playing with from a QB who is in talks to compete for most of the year for the Heisman Award this year ? It's an honor to practice with him and catch a lot of his passes in practice and in the game.
7. What is the biggest asset you believe you bring to your team and the game of Football itself? Competition and hard work
8. What are your future goals ? Be a Big12 All American, buy my mother a house, have a successful NFL career, be a role model to the youth, get my family back together
